Cookie Policy

Effective date: 22 April 2026

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They let a site recognise your device and remember small pieces of information between visits. Similar technologies include localStorage and sessionStorage, which we also describe below.

2. What we use

We keep this short because we only use a small number of cookies and similar technologies.

Analytics

  • Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*). Used to understand aggregate usage — pages viewed, features used, rough geographic region. Data is aggregated and not used to identify individuals. Measurement ID G-Y1KNMN8DLT. Typical lifetime: up to 2 years.

Essential (browser storage, not strictly "cookies")

  • localStorage (app.pokertimer.pro). Stores your tournament setup — blinds, chips, payouts, theme — so the clock can resume between sessions. Never leaves your browser. Cleared when you clear site data.
  • sessionStorage (app.pokertimer.pro). Stores a short-lived device ID used to distinguish your host screen from your controllers during a multi-device session. Cleared when you close the tab.
  • Authentication tokens (Pro only, app.pokertimer.pro). localStorage entries for JWT access and refresh tokens, set after you sign in with Google or GitHub. Required for Pro features. Cleared when you sign out or clear site data.

Payment provider (Stripe)

When you reach a Stripe checkout or customer portal, Stripe sets its own cookies to process the transaction and prevent fraud. Those cookies are controlled by Stripe under their own policies.

3. What we don't use

  • We do not use advertising cookies.
  • We do not use cross-site tracking pixels.
  • We do not share cookie data with advertisers or data brokers.

4. How to opt out or disable cookies

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies via their settings. Blocking essential browser storage (localStorage) will prevent the tournament clock from saving your setup and may disable Pro sign-in.

To opt out of Google Analytics across all sites, install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

5. Changes to this policy

If we start using different cookies we'll update this page and the effective date.
